Who we are
Center Church is a proud member of the United Church of Christ. We embody progressive Christian values, vibrant worship, and a multigenerational welcome for all.
In our worship and work, we try to live into the words of Micah, “Love kindness, do justice, and walk humbly with your God.” We believe in a Jesus of compassion, justice, peace, hope, and love.
Extravagant Welcome
Center Church proudly invites you into our Open and Affirming (ONA) community. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, relationship status, age, health, race, culture, economic status, or education. Everyone is welcome to join in leadership, fellowship, worship, sacraments, service and joys. Together we share in Jesus’ love!
Faith Formation for All
As a multigenerational congregation, we believe faith formation should be both multi- and intergenerational where we learn about God together! It starts with our children’s message during worship, and continues with our “Promised Land” Sunday school, confirmation classes and youth groups. For adults, there are interfaith, ecumenical, and arts and cultural programs. God is still speaking, and we are still learning!
Community Outreach
We “stand up” for justice and peace with our monthly vigils on the church front lawn. We help build homes with Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity, cook and worship with Cathedral in the Night, and donate food to South Hadley Neighbors Helping Neighbors, just to name a few! We support regional and global partners, like Church World Service and The United Church of Christ. Join us in serving others and working to make a just world for all!

I love the United Church of Christ! I express that love through my membership and participation here at Center Church. My children (one of them shown in this picture!) were baptized, Christian educated and confirmed here. My kids are now better adults because of their experience at Center Church & other UCC programs. This is a welcoming, progressive, discerning, multigenerational church. We’re good people!
